Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in your academics? Given the high standards for today’s students, it can be difficult to separate yourself from your work. However, too much stress on the brain has detrimental effects on your mental health. Luckily, many schools offer after school activities, dedicated to students’ special interests. Some of these clubs, like B kind, even serve the greater community with philanthropy and charity! Take a break from your coursework and meet with peers to make a change!
Many after school programs are hobby-based and give us the opportunity to engage with our favorite subjects. You might be surprised how many other students enjoy this activity as well! These organizations also allow students to take on leadership roles in the form of an “Executive Committee”. Various roles include President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Event Organizer, Public Relations, and sometimes even more! Running for the Executive Committee is an excellent chance to build confidence and engage in productive causes. Additionally, being on a committee will test your ability for collaboration and teamwork. These positions will playfully challenge yourself outside of your usual academics!
One of the greatest benefits of after school activities is connecting with students in ways that the classroom does not allow. In these settings, you will meet people with similar passions as yours, promoting collaboration and even friendship! Engaging with fellow students will allow you to become more empathetic and understanding. Here at B kind, we value the power of community and acts of kindness. Through meeting new students and fostering friendships, we can come together and make a change in the world.
Using this power of collaboration, we believe students can actively spread kindness and change lives. The combined drive for an organization incites a purpose of generosity and humanitarianism. These forms of charity can take place in the form of giveaways, bake sales, promotions, or even information sessions! These events promote your cause and raise awareness of your club’s importance. Whether your after school activity gives back to your immediate community or promotes global welfare, these acts of kindness are worth celebrating.
At B kind, we want to see your passion for change. B kind is one of the many great service-based after school activities, and we’d love to become a part of your community.
